Fortaleza is the state capital of Ceará and with approx. 2,4 million inhabitants, Fortaleza is the 5th biggest city in Brazil. International tourism started in the end of the 1990:s and has been growing fast ever since. The International Airport in Fortaleza, Pinto Martins, is well connected with many cities in Europe and receives several direct flights per week. The international airport is located approx. 6km from the center of Fortaleza.
