The state of Alagoas will see the opening of 25 new hotels until the year of 2012. Maceió which is the state capital of Alagoas, will see most of the hotel investments which will amount to 450 million R$ BRL.

In October, Accor hotels will inaugurate the new Mercure hotel in Praia de Pajuçara and later in the year, the Meridiano and Tropicalis hotels will open in Maceió. Early in 2011, the Beiriz hotel along with other hotels in Ponta Verde will open their doors for business. Several of the already established hotels in Maceió are also being refurbished as well as having more rooms added.

Due to the fast growing economy in Brazil, the hotel occupation levels in Brazil along with average daily hotel rates are increasing fast, which has led to increasing hotel investments in Brazil.

Alagoas is also tipped as one of the most promising areas in Brazil for property investments, and even though international tourism numbers in Alagoas are still trailing far behind other states such as Rio Grande do Norte, Bahía and Ceará, it is forecasted that the state will catch up as it has one of the most beautiful coastlines in Brazil.
