The Brazilian Ministry of Tourism forecasts that year 2010 will beat previous records in the Brazilian travel industry. Last month the domestic flight departures reached 6 million and the forecast for the full year is 65 million domestic flight departures, an increase of 16% compared to last year.

The numbers for international flight arrivals in Brazil for 2010 are estimated at 7 million, which also is a new record in the Brazilian travel industry. The average spending for international tourists is also growing in Brazil, and already for this year, the numbers show a 13,3 % increase from last year. It is forecasted that the mega events such as the 2014 soccer World Cup and 2016 Olympic games in Rio, will have a positive impact on international tourism in Brazil.

According to the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism, the very strong numbers from the domestic market are mainly due to the fast growing middle class C in Brazil. The last 5 years only, the C middle class in Brazil has seen an increase of over 60 million consumers and along with a GDP of approx. 7,5% at the moment, this segment of the market will continue to grow.

Brazilian Homes property rental department has also seen a high increase in rental bookings from the Brazilian market. The Brazilian rental properties we manage are already close to 100% booked for the coming high season December to March, and almost 80% of the bookings are from the domestic market in Brazil.

Due to the very strong domestic market in Brazil our investor clients stand very good chances to earn double-digit rental returns in the coming years. Even though price level for properties in Brazil is increasing fast, it is still possible to make excellent medium to long-term Brazilian property investments.
