A new study from the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism indicates that the tourism industry in Brazil will see continuing strong growth for the next years. It is forecasted that by year 2014, the year the FIFA World Cup will be hosted in Brazil, the domestic flight departures will reach 73 million Brazilian passengers. In 2009, which set a new record in the domestic travel industry in Brazil, Brazil saw a total of 56 million domestic flight departures.

The study also shows that total revenues from international tourism in Brazil by 2014 will amount to no less than 8,9 billion R$. This represents a 55% growth compared to the estimated numbers for 2010. The tourism sector in Brazil is estimated to create up to 2 million extra jobs as a result of the growing tourism in Brazil by 2014.

Why is growing tourism good news for Brazil property buyers?

One of the factors that really set Brazil property apart from most other overseas property destinations is the fact that Brazil does already have a very big and solid domestic consumer market. Brazilian properties in good and popular tourism destinations are already generating solid rental income, and with the growing domestic tourism the future rental income from Brazil vacation rentals are only set to improve.

Along with growing tourism, also come a higher number of future potential buyers looking for property and land in Brazil. For investor clients looking for investment property in Brazil, it is recommended to buy before the price level reaches price levels seen in other developed nations.
